KEEPER:Stop! Who would cross the Bridge of Death must answer me these questions three, 'ere the other side he see.
LAUNCELOT:Ask me the questions, bridge-keeper. I'm not afraid.
KEEPER:What is your name?
LAUNCELOT:My name is Sir Launcelot of Camelot.
KEEPER:What is your quest?
LAUNCELOT:To seek the Holy Grail.
KEEPER:What is your favorite color?
LAUNCELOT:Blue.
KEEPER:Right. Off you go.
LAUNCELOT:Oh, thank you. Thank you very much.
(Monty Python and the holy grail, 1975)

Ever since the human race became self aware, there is a constant quest for a holy grail, something divine in it’s beauty and perfection, something that will lift us from our daily miseries and will ease our lives. Something that will bring humanity to tranquility and eternal peace to mankind.

If you are searching to the holy grail of DVD’s backup… well, run away… like everything in life, there is no magic solutions to backing up a DVD in a way that will provide you a perfect copy. Actually, there is. It’s called Dual Layer DVD burner and media. But with the current production costs of the media is so high, it will take considerable amount of time for us, "mortals" to enjoy that solution.

So why the hell should someone write yet another guide? Can’t you find hundreds of them in the Internet? If you go to sites like DOOM9 and AfterDawn you will be faced with endless guides on how to do it, and people will swear on their grandmother’s graves that their method are the best. They might be right. However, based on weeks of research in which sleep became a rare commodity, I finalized the way I backup DVD and all my friends agree with me that this is indeed the best quality backups.

In this guide I will try to share "my way" of backing up a DVD. If you will keep in mind the fact that there is no perfect "holy grail" for that, and remember that this is "my quest" and "my favorite color", then, I hope you will enjoy it.

It is a bit of a long guide and it require your attention, so don’t read it while driving! See you at the other side!
